The BMW i Vision Dynamics Concept Is an All-Electric Gran Coupe With 373 Miles of Range


The sleek four-door concept revealed at the Frankfurt Auto Show can do 0-60 in four seconds, and has a top speed of over 120 mph.

GERMAN CARS CONCEPT CARS Right now, BMW's lineup of i-branded hybrid and electric vehicles has the i3 city car and the i8 sports car. That's it, nothing in between. But BMW was rumored to be about to introduce an i5 sedan to slot between both. Instead, BMW showed the i Vision Dynamics, a preview of a future i-branded sedan.

The i Vision Dynamics is a four-door "Gran Coupe" design study revealed today at the Frankfurt Auto Show. BMW claims a four second 0-60 time, a top speed over 120 mph, and a range of 373 miles. Sounds like a solid Tesla competitor to us.

The exterior design features an aggressive fascia with sharp headlights and lengthy kidney grilles, while the rear features a design similar to the recently released Z4 concept. Like on the Tesla Model S, the door handles are flush with the body.

The front fenders feature BMW's new signature fin found on cars like the new 5-Series and 7-Series , along with an "i" badge.

"With the BMW i Vision Dynamics we are showcasing how we envisage future electric mobility between the i3 and i8: a dynamic and progressive, four-door Gran Coupe," says BMW Group Chairman Harald Krüger.
Last week, BMW revealed it plans to have
12 pure electric cars in its lineup by 2025 . The i Vision Dynamics will likely evolve into a production-worthy sedan to make up one of those 12. BMW 
